Looking for Volunteer Opportunities

Home » Looking for Volunteer Opportunities

Since the Michaëlle Jean Centre for Global and Community Engagement’s inception in 2011, University of Ottawa has been offering volunteer opportunities to students on and off-campus. Through its online Community Engagement Navigator, students can register for extracurricular volunteering (EV) placements, or volunteer as part of a course through the Community Service Learning (CSL) program. Please refer to the Community Partner Manual to obtain more information about these two options.

With that said, U of O is presently recruiting partner organizations for the upcoming semesters. If these programs interest you or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Stephanie Marshall at  cemc5@uottawa.ca to discuss specific placements or projects you would like to offer. For your information, volunteer opportunities/ projects may vary (ex. Research, front line work, health and safety policy and procedures, health workshops, communication projects, 1-day projects, etc.). There are many possibilities. It all depends on your organisation’s needs.

This being said, you are more than welcome to get started on the Community Engagement Navigator at http://community.uottawa.ca. This reference document provides a step-by-step overview of an online tool (ex. creating an account, posting placements, etc.). You may also find these tutorial videos helpful.
