Intensification Implementation Group conversation with industry

Prior to the formal establishment of the City's Intensification Implementation Group, discussions were held with the development industry to identify that industry's view on barriers to intensification. The working paper outlining the nature of the "conversation" is here.

At the February 20, 2008 board meeting of FCA, officials of the Planning Transit and Environment Dept. of the City spoke about plans for public consultation in connection with revision of the Official Plan of the City of Ottawa. They spoke from a presentation which is reproduced here.

Urban Design Guidelines for High Profile Buildings

Staff has released a first draft in English only of a proposed guideline for tall buildings. available here. This initial draft will lead to more formal public consultations in the Autumn.

Wastewater treatment for Manotick

The Rural Council takes the view that sewerage problems in Manotick could be best addressed by treatment on-site rather than construction of a connection to the city's urban sewage system. A meeting is to be held on the subject April 19 and the Council's position is outlined here.

Rapid transit consultations - initial considerations

The FCA Transportation Working Group has prepared a series of points which have been submitted to the city's Transit and Transportation Committees as public consultations on rapid transit are launched. These observations are intended to provide guidance and inspiration as the consultation process continues toward a deadline of May.
