FCA-FAC General Meeting Wed. Feb. 21

The next general of the FCA [Federation of Citizens’ Associations of Ottawa] will take place Wednesday,  February 21 from 7:15 pm at the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex (Hall H) 1490 Youville Drive in Orleans.

Issues of recreation standards and of donation policies will be addressed by Dan Chenier, General Manager, Recreation, Culture & Infrastructure Facilities.  Do plan to attend to learn more about Volunteer Ottawa discounted workshops for FCA members. Safe Wings Ottawa representatives will share their project with us, along with other business items. FCA Member organizations are invited to send two delegates to General Meetings. Observers are always welcome.

On January 17 an FCA-FAC General Meeting will be held at Kitchissippi United Church with an Arts and Culture theme.

In accordance with our custom at the first meeting of the new year, the meeting will feature “speed-dating”, a series of simultaneous small group interviews with invited experts. Meeting attendees rotate from expert to expert making contacts and learning of various topics of interest to communities.

At the January 17 meeting, it will be possible to learn about opportunities for building sense of community and encouraging engagement through arts and cultural initiatives.

Following the “speed-dating” activity, regular FCA-FAC general meeting will take place.

Members and prospective member are invited to bring along representative from their communities who might welcome contact with the invited experts. Observers are always welcome at FCA-FAC General Meetings.

The next General Meeting will be held Thursday Dec. 8 at the Overbrook Community Centre 33 Quill St. A discussion on community safety, featuring senior officers of Ottawa Police Services will be the prime feature of the meeting. A proposal for a submission for the OMB Review will also be discussed.
