FCA-FAC is conducting a weekend workshop on advocacy for community groups on Saturday October 3 in Overbrook. Participants are invited to learn from the experiences of their colleagues. Several group representatives will describe a specific instance in which they have advocated for a public decision. Each will outline how their group decided to take a stand and the tools they employed to advance their position. Following the presentations, round table discussions involving all participants will consider the case studies and a panel of outside decision-makers will comment on the approaches taken.
Some participants will bring insight into their organization’s current issues. All will seek to learn how their own group can speak out effectively.
