An FCA weekend workshop on advocacy for community groups will be held Saturday October 3 in Overbrook. Participants are invited to learn from the experiences of their colleagues.
Several group representatives will describe a specific instance in which they have advocated for a public decision. Each will outline how their group decided to take a stand and the tools they employed to advance their position. Following the presentations a panel of outside decision-makers will comment on the approaches taken. Round table discussions involving all participants will consider the case studies. Some will bring insight into their organization’s current issues. All will seek to learn how their own group can speak out effectively.
